Assistive Technology (AT)

  1. Every Independent Living Center (ILC) in California has one or more staff experienced with assistive technology.  Contact your nearest ILC for everything from simple questions to more involved AT needs.  To locate your nearest ILC go to CFILC and use the link for “Find an ILC.”
  2. AT Network – California’s AT Network is dedicated to expanding the accessibility of tools, resources and technology that may increase independence, improve personal productivity and enhance the quality of life for all Californians. Use the Information and Referral line for personalized assistance, 1-800-390-2699. Visit their website for a wealth of information on many topics. One notable online resource, use the AT Service Directory to locate vendors, agencies, organizations and resource information for your area, State or nationwide.
  3. Accessible Technology Coalition – The Accessible Technology Coalition (ATC) is a resource on assistive technology. Their goal is to make access to AT easy and available to everyone. You can browse the well-organized categories on our website for information – and if you don’t find what you need, you may “Ask an Expert” for assistance.  They also offer webinars and in person trainings on various AT topics.
  4. The California Telephone Access Program (CTAP) provides phone equipment at no cost to those who cannot use standard phone equipment due to physical or other limitations.
