Everyone benefits from mainstream technology in our everyday lives. However, when advancing years or a disability limit one’s capabilities, assistive technology can work to bridge the gap.  FREED, along with the statewide AT Network, provides a variety of services.

FREED accepts donations of used items that are clean and in good repair and provides them to our consumers at no cost. We typically handle:

FREED has a wide variety of devices available to borrow. One may borrow one or more devices up to 3 months, for purposes like –

The FREED Device Lending Library includes -

The AT Network provides information, referral and technical assistance on a wide range of assistive technology and related services. The AT Network is a project of the California Department of Rehabilitation and the California Foundation for Independent Living Centers, financed by the US Department of Education, Rehabilitation Services Administration with funds allocated by the 2004 Assistive Technology Act.
